Women, nowadays, do not necessarily have to wear the same kind of sarees that their mothers or grandmothers wore. Thanks to developments in the textile and fashion industry, the market is flooded with designer sarees of varied styles and patterns. One look at the numerous sarees available on the internet is enough to realize the degree of modernization carried out on traditional patterns. Designer have combined unusual styles to create exclusive designs that are much in demand today.
Designer sarees need special maintenance. As cleaning and retaining these sarees can be quite expensive, this point should be kept in mind while purchasing a designer saree. Most designer sarees are hand worked. That means, to prevent damage to the embroidery, the saree needs to be dry cleaned and wrapped in tissue before storing. To prevent creases, designer sarees should be aired periodically. To accessorize a designer saree to perfection it is necessary to have matching shoes and jewellery which highlights the look of the saree. The cut and pattern of the blouse also matters a lot as a chic blouse can act as an accessory to the saree while a badly tailored blouse can ruin even the best of sarees. Bollywood inspired blouses are becoming increasingly popular, as are corset type blouses.
